I find it completely acceptable to make these stardards actual standards. The educators who are teaching our children are supposed to be capable of preparing them for the digital age. If a teacher can barely navigate a simple desktop setup, then he or she should be trained in the art of computer literacy.
Students today are facing an everexpanding technological world. Teachers should embrace this era and take the time to learn not only for their students but for themselves as well. I agree that if a teacher is unequipped with the knowledge of the technology they are provided with, they dont have the ability to use it to its full potential.
